Your Lessons Need to Be Shared

I recently listened to a podcast that really hit close to home for me, particularly in this season of my life. For those of you who may not know, I truly love Sarah Jakes Robert’s Woman Evolve podcast and everything she’s doing surrounding Woman Evolve; so much so that once I found out about her back in 2022, I haven’t missed a conference since I could afford to start going in 2023. The episode I listened to was from her Woman Evolve podcast titled, “From Reluctant to Resilient”. In this episode she talks about sharing your lessons. Pastor Sarah says, and I quote, “We don’t get to just give our lessons once we have passed the test. There are some things that God calls us to do that we have to give the lessons even while we are learning new lessons. You may never fully master the thing that you are called to do, but that doesn’t mean you don’t have lessons for people that are on different levels than you are. So, make sure you are sharing your lessons.” That was so powerful, so powerful because a lot of times that felt like me. I felt like I was, in a way, unqualified to share my story, my testimony, the things I’ve learned, because I felt I still had so much further to go, to still learn. But God doesn’t call the qualified, He qualifies the called. Just look at some people from the Bible like Moses, Gideon, Jeremiah, David, or even Paul (the one formerly called Saul, yes that one). Moses said “Lord, please! Send anyone else.” (Exodus 4:13 NLT) Gideon said “But Lord, how can I rescue Israel? My clan is the weakest in the whole tribe of Manasseh, and I am the least in my entire family!” (Judges 6:15 NLT) Jeremiah said “O Sovereign Lord, I can’t speak for you! I’m too young! (Jeremiah 1:6 NLT) When God instructed Samuel on finding the next king of Israel after Saul, Samuel was judging by appearance alone, but God reminded him that He looks at the heart. God chose David even though he was the youngest and his job was in the fields watching the sheep and goats. (1 Samuel 16: 7-12 NLT) Paul (formerly Saul) was eager to destroy the Lord’s followers, men and women. But the Lord still used him as His chosen instrument to spread the Good News of Jesus. (Acts 9: 1-2; 15 NLT) With the power of God, Moses delivers the Israelite children from Pharoh’s hands out of Egypt (Exodus 14:30 NLT), Gideon defeats the 135,000-man Midianite army with only 300 men (Judges 7-8 NLT), and Jeremiah’s mouth was anointed to prophesy for over 40 years (Jeremiah 1:7-10). Through these examples, we can also relate to 2 Corinthians 12:9. Paul writes where God spoke to him, saying “My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.” (2 Corinthians 12:9 NIV) That same power of God is available to you too! All are welcome to come boldly to His thrown of grace. He is waiting to use you.
As I’ve stepped further into my faith, I am increasingly letting God’s power lead me, guide me, and help me along with way. Starting a weekly devotional series is one way I am doing that. God placed it on my heart late last year to read Christian devotionals on social media and share what His Spirit has placed in me. Now you may not even know what a devotional is or why it is beneficial. Consider this. Many people don’t understand the Bible or may have a hard time reading through it on their own. A devotional can be an aide in that, as it provides reflection and inspirational messages based on scripture, as well as faith guided application questions, and even prayers. I invite you to tune in to my social media channels in the links at the bottom of my website page as I impart my lessons, and I promise you will be blessed by what I have to share! I am looking forward to continuing connection with you all through that series in the coming weeks. Until then, may the Lord keep you in His perfect peace.
“The Lord will guide you continually, and satisfy your soul in drought, and strengthen your bones; You shall be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail.” - Isaiah 58:11 NKJV
